Kraft Heinz Canada has committed $20 Million of product to Food Banks Canada over the next 5 years through a new program called Kraft Heinz Pantry Day. Through Pantry Day, Kraft Heinz launched the largest-ever one-day nationwide food matching donation program for Food Banks Canada. Earlier in 2020, in response to COVID-19, Kraft Heinz also donated 1 million meals and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to FBC, taking action to help communities across Canada in a time of need.

Walmart Canada and the Walmart Foundation are long-standing, multi-year partners. They support capacity building in our food sharing network. They provide grants that we then regrant to food banks to secure items such as freezers, fridges, trucks, warehousing and supplies that help support food recovery and distribution in their communities. As a thoughtful partner, the Walmart Foundation made a $1 million contribution to Food Banks Canada to help purchase food during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, RB launched its Fight for Access fund to improve access to health, hygiene and nutrition for all. In line with this purpose, RB Canada has donated one million meals to more than 3,000 community food banks represented by Food Banks Canada. This donation will assist with the enormous demand for community food banks for people and families affected by the pandemic. Food insecurity grew 38% in the early months of the pandemic. Now 1 in 7 Canadian households are experiencing food insecurity.
